This blog will be to add my thoughts and experience as I travel around the World with Hiram College studying the Biomes of the World. I hope that during travel I will update about once a week.

Trip dates: January 7, 2010-April 6, 2010

Visiting:Alaska, Hawaii, Thailand, India, Maldives, Tanzania, Egypt, Turkey, Germany, Norway and then end in Germany.

What is a Biome: A large geographical area of distinctive plant and animals that are adapted to a particular environment of the area.

Biomes going to be studied: Boreal Forest, Continental shelf, Deep Sea, Coral Reef, Tropical Rainforest, Rainshadow Desert, Rocky Shores, Caves, Urban ecosystems, Wetlands, Deserts, Mangroves, Tropical Savannah, Tropical Riparian Systems, Oasis, Mediterranean woodland and scrub, Temperate Grasslands, Agroecosystems, Temperate Broad leaf Deciduous Forest, Lakes and Ponds, and Tundra.
